November Battle

I am taking on the Month of November as a challenge. 30 days of battle with my some what mediocre will-power.

During the month of September I did a diet thing. (Very few carbs, loaded up on fruits/vegetables) I did pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. My pants fit better which was the goal. I didn't want to have to buy new clothes. Though I need new jeans, but only because they are getting too worn out. But that is neither here nor there.

Battle is what I am about.

5 Goals for November:

Eating: Fruits and vegetables need to make a come back. After September I fell back into my, lets eat all the carbs all the time.

Exercise: Going to track my miles. Only 71 days until my half. I need to keep on my training plan. Also I want to throw in more walking, it helps my legs and fresh air is always nice.

Read: 20 minutes a day, at least. I've gotten all these books, they are piling up.

Internet: You evil distractor you. 30 minute limit for me. A put a timer gadget on my desktop to keep track. I need to put one on the laptop too. And the phone apps count as well.

Create: So many projects and ideas. Kind of need to do them. Everyday do something.

Seems like a multitude of goals, but really they are all things I already do. I just want to put a little more effort into each to reach their full potential. Or at least get a little bit more out of each.

I wrote the goals out on a white board with the days of the week on the side. I'll keep track with my hopefully many successes here by putting check marks for each goal I reach that day.

Sunday Warm-Up

How is it the middle of October already?!
The days are slow, but the years go fast. Or so it seems. Unless it is Sunday. Sunday is NEVER long enough.

How I did this week:
*Got oil changed
*Made my doctor/dentist appointments
*Had a fabulous day off on Thursday
*Finished my book (City of Bones)
*Ran all three days planned (a 3 miler, 2 miler and 5 miler)

*Didn't finish the wreath or even look at it really
*Went to town on food Saturday (China Buffet, Fair Food-funnel cake/fried green beans, plus dinner I really wasn't hungry food and pumpkin bread) Yeah, over ate a bit

Up Coming Plans for the Week:
*Get in another 3 runs
*Plan for my friend's half-er
*The wants my attention
*Less computer time, more doing stuff time
*Remember veggies are our friends and you do not have to snack because you are bored

Ran Away for the Day

OH yeah!
Took the day off from work.
Ahh, freedom. You feel so nice.

 I got a bunch of things done. (I always do more on the days I take off from work than days I get off before of holidays or whatever)

*Car oil changed. (I got a nail in my tire though that they cannot patch.....sigh)
*Went to the eye doctor and now have a brand new years worth of contacts. My eyes are going to love me.
*Also got new light covers we needed to finish up with our bathroom mirror project.

Plus got to spend time with the husband and a few thousand locals. We went to a local craft market here that is kind of a big outing. I have heard about it since I moved here. So definitely had to go experience it.
It was pretty cool. Lots of vendors with their creative wares. Makes me think of all the craft projects I could be doing......but don't.

We ended up getting some metal decorations for the garden and for a great price! This seller had a line non-stop it seemed like. We got some ones in the shape of hummingbirds and dragonflies.

Of course a kitty.

Days off are awesome!

Working Out Wednesday

So for the month of September, the husband and I dragged ourselves through some 'diets'
My deal was to give up the majority of carbs and add all the fruits and vegetables I could stomach.

I had a few freak out moments where I walked around the house pulling my hair to try to keep myself from cramming a whole box of crackers in my mouth....
But for the most part it went pretty well.

Breakfast and lunch were a breeze. Eggs galore, plus a banana. And I pack my lunch for work the night before so I can only eat what I pack. Night time was MUCH harder. I mean the carbs and breads and graham crackers were sitting right there calling to me. I am such a muncher too.

We made it though, and it all worked out for the better. We are both down a few pounds and feel proud of ourselves. Hopefully I will keep adding more veggies/fruit to my usual diet. We now consider what veggie each dinner will have and add in a vegetables to meals with usually do without. (Like red beans and rice, tacos, pasta)
Also I am going to add more exercise in to help balance out adding the happy carb back into my life. Because I love potatoes and bread.

I had to stumble around for long pants and a long sleeve shirt this morning for our morning walk.
55 degree according to Wunderground.

Down right freezing!

Or so we think. Moving to Canada is definitely out. The South has won and anything below 80 degree is just cold.

Sunday Warm-Up

So Sunday, we met again.

I can always sense when it is about 3 pm on a Sunday.

It's like my internal, aw-hell-I-have-to-go-to-work, alarm goes off.

Then it's just a sad-the weekend is over-downhill ride until bedtime.  I guess I could do something about that and plan a fun activity or something. But really is there any hiding from the end of the weekend?

On a happier note, I made some very yummy pumpkin chocolate chip bread. Two loaves so there will be goodness for at least a week. (, I froze one loaf so I wouldn't eat it all in one week--because I would)

Also rain! My bushes sorely needed it. 

What I did accomplish last week:
*Ran 3 days (Good thing considering that the random race sign-up binge I went on are starting to pop up!)

*Set up an appointment with the eye doctor. I can't even tell you how long I have been wearing this set of contacts. They are so old, I'm thinking about wearing my glasses until then. Hmmm.

*Bought printer ink. Now I won't have to get all grumbly when it runs out because I'll be ready! What a crazy concept.

What I will accomplish over the coming week:
*Mail off my two packages. Try to get to the post office before it closes is a fun game.

*Set up a dentist appointment.

*Bump up weekday runs to 3 miles.

*Totally take a personal day on Thursday!

*Finish wreath. I've started it but walked away because it wasn't doing what I wanted. 

*Try not to eat so much junk food during the next weekend.
